You can use the DGFT e-IEC to apply for an IEC Certificate online. You can follow the instructions provided on the website to complete the process. You will need to upload documents in digital format. Your documents should be less than 5 MB. You do not need to upload your documents’ digital signature. To begin the process, you need to log in to the DGFT website and click on the “Online IEC application” option.

You will be required to have an IEC number in order to trade goods. It is important to note that you can only apply for an IEC if you are a registered office or a Head Office. If you do not have a Head Office, you will need to use a regional office. If you do not use a Head Office, you will need a regional office to apply. Once you have completed the application form, you will receive an e-IEC number.

For a successful application, an exporter must register with the DGFT e-IEC website. To register, click on the register or login tab. You can also upload documents to get a certificate. You will need a copy of your PAN or voter id, passport, and Aadhar card. A copy of your rent or electricity bill will also be required. The website will also require a self-addressed stamped envelope to mail your IEC certificate to you.

DGFT e-IEC reactivation

The DGFT e-IEC enables users to update their IEC details electronically and will continue to do so until the end of 2020. As of now, IECs that have not been updated electronically since January 1, 2005, will be automatically deactivated. However, you can update your information online until October 6, 2018. Then, the updated IEC will be transmitted to the Customs system.

The process of reactivating IECs is entirely free and can be completed in as little as 5-10 minutes, if you update the correct IEC details online. If there are any inactive or incorrect details, the process may take as long as 30 minutes. The main aim of this exercise is to prune out invalid or inactive IECs. You can also reactivate IECs after they have been deactivated or inactive for over a year.
