How to Register an IEC on DGFT e-IEC, Before exporting your goods, you should create an IEC profile on DGFT e-IEC. For this, you must first visit the DGFT e-IEC website. Click on the Services tab and then choose IEC profile management. This will open a new page where you can register an exporter’s IEC profile. You will receive an OTP (one-time password) to validate your account. Change this password after logging into the DGFT website.
You can use the DGFT e-IEC to apply for an IEC Certificate online. You can follow the instructions provided on the website to complete the process. Then, the updated IEC will be transmitted to the Customs system.
The process of reactivating IECs is entirely free and can be completed in as little as 5-10 minutes, if you update the correct IEC details online. If there are any inactive or incorrect details, the process may take as long as 30 minutes. The main aim of this exercise is to prune out invalid or inactive IECs.
